The first launch by GBSF to reach the business people of the world for Christ was in November 1999, when Gary Shotton and Brad Stine traveled to Poland to meet with Fred Simila and survey the interests and needs of that country.

Since then we have had the opportunity to make new friends and forge alliances in the following countries (starting with the most recent trips and going back in time):

Mexico - March 2009
Gary Shotton (far right) shared Marketplace Ministry concepts as an encouragement to
businesspeople in Monterey. Even though the trip was just for two days, a lot was accomplished as he met with two different church groups as a forerunner of future trips. Click for report: Complete Report

Mexico - February 2009
Christine O'Kelley (right) led the team, known as the "Tres Amigas" for the first annual Christian Business Women in The Marketplace Seminar. The team also consisted of Kit Murray (left) and Lidia Magley (middle) as they shared with the Mexican business women with a timely message that was heart-felt and with a genuine desire to help. Mexico - September  2008
Three businessmen join Missionary Hosts, Tim and Roberta Rovenstine (Left to right).  Stephen Kang (middle), Gary Shotton (second from right) and Jack Tuner (far right). The group had an exciting time in a new part of Mexico near Vera Cruz on the west coast.
Liberia, Africa -- March 2008
Gary Shotton (pictured left) with an owner of a machine shop in Monrovia, Liberia.  The trip was packed with full days of visiting schools, lecturing on business topics, visiting Christian businesspeople and sharing an Christian conference.  It is a long way from the USA to western part of Africa but it was well worth the trip. The trip was in conjunction with Living Water Missions.
Guatemala -- August 2007
Gary Shotton and Al Horta were joint teachers at the Living Water Teaching missions facility in Xela, Guatemala. The week was dedicated to teaching in God's Word regarding prosperity.  Al shared some life changing truths from the Word and Gary shared some practical application of the Word in day-to-day life experiences. Republic of Georgia- December 2006
Five men from three churches visit a wonderful missionary family working with the Armenian people living in the Georgia. Left to right are Gary Shotton, John McNally, Vit Michka, Ron Jones, and Robert Sutton. Click for complete report. 

Mexico - September 2006
Gary Shotton, Scott Cloud, and Andy Holloway (seated with one of their interpreters, Nora Paez) concentrated on the cites around the Toluca, Mexico area. The team was joined with six successful Mexican businessmen most of the week. 

Mexico - April 2006
Scott Cloud with his wife, Roxanne, and  Andy Holloway with his wife, Marilyn and daughters, Shabri and Shakira were extremely successful with their trip. 

Mexico - November 2005
Scott Cloud, Tim Rovenstine, and Gary Shotton traveled to Mexico to conduct a full week of meeting in the towns of Leon, Irapuato, Guanajuato, and Celeya. China - September 2005
Eight highly qualified members of New Community Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania traveled to Beijing China to help frame the thoughts of the business and professionals as they enter the global economy. 

Mexico - August 2005
David Kahle and wife, Coleen, traveled to Mexico where David conducted several seminars on Sales, Change Management, and encouraged the Christian business people to stay true to there Christian commitments while doing business. Click for complete report. 

Ukraine - June 2005
William Withers and Gary Shotton went to Ukraine for an exciting connection with a Micro-Lending project. Part of the trip was in conjunction with Bob Crowe, David Egan, and Charles Pyles.  Click for complete report. 

 

China - April 2005
Jim Solomon, Jim DePriest and Gary Shotton opened new territory by going the first time to Beijing, China. The trip was very rewarding and much was accomplished for future trips to follow.

Guatemala- May 2004
Shauna Shotton and Gary Shotton (father) opened new territory in Guatemala City and Quetzaltinango. Connections were established with several existing Marketplace Ministries. 

El Salvador - May 2004
Shauna Shotton and Gary Shotton (father) had a delightful time with an Oral Roberts University student that was home for the summer. One business man from El Salvador has been instrumental in the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). 

Poland - April 2004
Jim Solomon and Dr. Lawrence Day presented high level teachings on establishing a business plan and achieving World Class Quality by stamping out blame. 

Poland - April 2004
Faithbridge Church from Houston, Texas sent a team of five business and professionals to Poland on a Faithbridge BMT. The team consisted of Paulette Kovar (Missions Pastor), Robert Kovar (Paulette's husband), Jack Dole, Emory Laningham, and Bill Suter.  The combined business experience of the team exceeded 125 years. Toluca, Mexico - October 2003
Eleven men from the International Fellowship of Christian Businessmen (IFCB) were part of a life changing event for the Mexican business people near Mexico City. The combined business experience of this team exceeded 425 years.

Abikan Siberia, Russia - May 2003
B____ B____ and Gary Shotton traveled 13 time zones east of the central time zone of Tulsa, Oklahoma to experience an excited and motivate team of Christians that were serving God openly in their local church and community. Gary and B____ then traveled on to Poland. 

Lublin and Krakow, Poland - May 2003
B____ B____ and Gary Shotton met with a fun loving and enthusiastic group of Christians in this beautiful part of Poland. The mentoring times were rich and many good times to visit Christian businesses that were open about their Christian faith.
  

Minsk, Belarus - May 2003
B____ B____ and Gary Shotton took the all night train from Warsaw to Minsk which was a great experience. The business people of Belarus were anxious and excited about the ministry on business.  Several opportunities were presented to speaking in Universities and visit Christian businesses.

Japan - January 2003
Mr. Jim DePriest from Tulsa, Oklahoma did a solo trip to Japan which was very interesting.  This trip was not typical because the people of Japan are very sophisticated in their business dealings.

Guatemala - November 2002
Gary and Cindy Shotton along with their daughter Shauna drove 6000 miles round trip from Tulsa Oklahoma to Guatemala City, Guatemala.  What an experience.

Roca Blonca, Mexico - October 2002
Gary and Cindy Shotton along with their daughter Shauna were able to ministry to a group along the Pacific coast regarding the ministry of Business as a part of the Body of Christ.

Poland - September 2002
Mr. Jim DePriest from Tulsa, Oklahoma did a solo trip to Poland with great results.  Not only were the business people blessed, but Jim shared with a couple of Church youth groups on the subject of staying committed to Christ when pressures to conform present themselves.
  

Poland - April 2002
Jack Sanford headed up the team from Atlanta consisting of Jo Ellen Quirouet (shown at left, with Jarek, the interpreter), Michael Morris, and Ron Bailey. The trip was packed with speaking engagements, business visitations, teaching in churches and enjoying the fabulous Polish culture.

Barcelona, Spain - February 2002
Gary Shotton participated in the annual convention for the EuroPartners group where approximately 125 were in attendance representing approximately 30 nations.

Saltillo, Mexico - January 2002
Gary Shotton made an initial trip to Saltillo Mexico to work with long time friends Kerry & Twyla Ruggles and to scout the land for future BMTs. He encountered a great reception at a morning Christian prayer group of approximately 50 men who have been meeting regularly to study God's Word.

Russia - October 2001
Gary Shotton traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia to meet with Pastor Randall Crosby. The trip consisted of establishing ground work for future BMTs and speaking in the University of Business, St. Petersburg. The picture shows Pastor Randall Crosby on a Monday night teaching members of his congregation "Success Principles for Life" along with encouraging them to draft business plans.

Poland - October 2001
Gary Shotton met Fred Simila in Poland to open mentoring groups in two new cities and discuss the possibilities of Fred establishing the new company GBS-Poska, a for-profit company. Gary taught at a Business mentoring session in the city of Szczecin to approximately 50 eager business-minded people from the local church. Gary then traveled on to Russia.

Russia - August 2001
Mel Parker was the featured speaker in a paid seat seminar titled “Winning in Sales”. Meanwhile, Gary Shotton focused on strengthening existing relationships.

Poland - May 2001
Conrad and Winifred Coussens with Gary and Cindy Shotton introduced Poland to the American business-woman. This trip included more Cultural Events giving the feel of a holiday tour with a side trip into Czech Republic and Slovakia. Fred and Patti Simila established the trip schedule.

Estonia - May 2001
Gary Shotton made a solo trip to Estonia to check out the possibilities of doing BMT events in the cities of Tartu and Tallin.  Pastor Albert Turnapu was the host.

Poland - March 2001
Neal Bratschun, Mel Parker, and Gary Shotton were active in Business Mentoring, Preaching in Churches, Business Visitations, School Lectures and Cultural Events. This trip was made possible by the diligent work of Fred Simila and was a forerunner to the current structure used for a typical BMT.

Poland - November 2000
This trip was focused around 3 days of prayer and fasting. Neal Bratschun, Conrad Coussens, and Gary Shotton joined Fred Simila and Jan Wojnar at the head of the Wisla River to pray and seek God’s direction for the organization.

Poland - May 2000
The team was in Krakow, Poland to present the first paid-seat seminar, fashioned after a “Peter Lowe Success Seminar”. Jan Wojnar helped greatly. Speakers included Tim Redmond (and Tim's wife Sandi), Rick Lineweaver, Neal Bratschun, Mel Parker, and Gary Shotton.  Fred Simila conducted the extreme amount of groundwork before and during the event which was necessary for this event to be a success.

Poland - November 1999
Brad Stine and Gary Shotton made this trip to scout the land in Poland. Fred Simila hosted them. Initial contact was made with Mr. Jan Wojnar.
