As he learned about advertising, Jack started placing billboards along I-44 which led to advertising their store on 28 billboards using registered trademarks. Being a true entrepreneur, Jack saw the opportunity in outdoor advertising which launched him into the Turner Advertising Company. This company grew in 10 years to include approximately 300 signs. In addition, the Turner's directed their attention on acquiring and restoring property in Mt. Vernon. In 1985 they purchased the old town square hotel and restored the old hotel into 16 deluxe apartments. The Turner's went on to restore several more commercial and residential properties and at their peak they had 37 units. Another focus in Jack's life is ministry; in his local church, in jail ministry, and with international trips to spread the concepts of Marketplace Ministry to Christian entrepreneurs in other countries.

Cindy Shotton home to hear a audio biography from Mr. Jack Turner.

Jack
Turner is from Mt. Vernon, Missouri and in 1959 while attending college,
he and his wife, Sammie, took the opportunity to purchase a Ben Franklin
Variety Store in Mt. Vernon. He and his family operated this store
for 34 years as it grew from a one person operation to a 10,000 sq. ft.
store employing 23 people.
